The allocation of Regional Transfer Funds (TKD) plays a crucial role in maintaining the sustainability of local governments. Beyond funding various local operational development programs, these funds are also relied upon to support the salary payments of approximately 4.3 million civil servants (ASN) across regions.

Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara stated that the realization of TKD fund disbursements reached IDR 504.3 trillion as of August 2026. This achievement highlights the smooth distribution of central government funds to support priority local needs.

The hundreds of trillions of rupiah poured into regions are utilized to keep local government operations running smoothly. The main priorities include fulfilling the financial rights of regional civil servants through monthly salary payments and funding public service operational expenses.

Information regarding the budget absorption performance was presented directly by Suahasil Nazara during the APBN KiTa press conference. The event took place at the Ministry of Finance Building in Jakarta on Friday (September 18, 2026).

This TKD support aligns with the view of the Regional Representative Council (DPD), which considers central fund allocations to be more than just budget figures, serving instead as a vital instrument driving local economic growth.
